Portraits of Justice: A virtual art competition portraying the sitting Supreme Court Justices.
In recognition of America’s 250th Anniversary, this national portrait competition invites artists of voting age to interpret members of the sitting United States Supreme Court — the judicial body entrusted with interpreting the Constitution born from the ideals of independence, liberty, and self-government established in 1776.
Portraiture is more than likeness. It is history, memory, accountability and legacy.
Competition organizers invite artists to interpret:
· justice
· liberty
· dissent
· civic responsibility
· equality before the law
Submission period: June 1, 2026 – July 1, 2026
No entry fee
Eligibility: Open to all American citizens and legal residents who are of voting age (18+) by the official close of the competition on July 1, 2026
